WATERFORD TWP, MI -- Two Flint women have been arraigned on charges after a daughter posed as her mother, pretending to be a substitute teacher at a Waterford Township elementary school . Dayonlynn Bell, 24, and Donna Farley, 44, both of Flint were arraigned on false pretenses charges on Tuesday, Feb. 17, in 51st District Court, according to a news release from the Waterford Township Police Department. Bell's bail was set at $5,000, and Farley's bail was set at $2,500. Waterford Township police said on Monday, Feb. 16, officers responded to the Riverside Elementary School for a complaint of a woman impersonating a substitute teacher. The school liaison officer spoke to Bell, and when asked to produce identification she allegedly produced the identification of the real substitute teacher, Farley, who is her mother, according to the release. Bell was taken into custody and was transported to the Waterford Police Department for further questioning. Bell allegedly admitted to investigators that she and her mother decided she would go to the school with Farley's identification. She allegedly told investigators they came up with the plan because Farley had a prior appointment she did not want to miss. While investigators were speaking with another of Bell's family members at the police department, they noticed a woman matching the description of her mother in a vehicle parked in the police department's lot. Investigators confronted the woman who identified herself as Farley, and she was escorted into the police department where she was interviewed by investigators, according to the release. Both women admitted to investigators that the reason they allegedly committed the fraud was strictly for monetary reasons, according to the release. Both suspects were booked and lodged in the Oakland County Jail. Bell and Farley are scheduled back in court on Monday, Feb. 23. This incident remains under investigation. If anyone has any information, they are asked to call Waterford Police Detective Larry Novak at 248-618-7515, or to stay anonymous contact the tip line at 248-674-COPS.
