Flash of bright lights over New Zealand's North Island region.

A meteorite flashed across the sky in Auckland and Waikato and has been reported as crashing north of Cambridge. Aucklanders are reporting a flash of bright lights over the city. According to Twitter, dozens of people have witnessed the lights in the sky. Some have also heard a booming noise after seeing the lights. There are also reports of a big flash in Wellington and near Hamilton. A still from the Auckland Webcam taken at 10:02pm, 11 February 2015 of Auckland City with what looks likely to be a meteor or meteorite that lit up the skies over the North Island this evening.
