Police Close Street in Aftermath of Copenhagen Synagogue Attack
2/16/2015 3:00:22 AM
Danish police shot and killed a man in an exchange of fire in the early hours of Sunday, February 15, following shooting attacks on a free speech event at a Copenhagen cafe and synagogue. At least two people were killed and five police officers injured in the attacks. Danish police said on Sunday morning that the man they shot dead at Norrebro train station was the gunman responsible for the earlier attacks on Saturday and Sunday. The first attack took place on Saturday, when a gunman opened fire into the cafe where a Swedish cartoonist who had caricatured the Prophet Muhammad was speaking at a free speech event. Hours later, in the early hours of Sunday morning, a man was shot outside the city's main synagogue, police are cited as saying in local news reports .
